Why Philly Vignettes?

In case you missed it, I’m heading to Philadelphia for the semester (Spring 2012).  I’ll be working for my advisor and another scholar, helping them with research for their book on presidential rhetoric.

The “Philly Vignettes” are my attempt to capture my days.  The dictionary describes “vignette” as “any small, pleasing picture or view” or “a small, graceful literary sketch.”  Thus, my attempt to provide (through photos and written reflections) a view or sketch of my semester away.  If they are pleasing and/or graceful, that will be an added bonus.
